Apple dumplings

Enjoy this easy recipe the whole family will love.

2 whole Granny Smith apples

2 cans of Crescent rolls

2 sticks of butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

Cinnamon to taste

1 can Mountain Dew

Peel and core apples and cut into 8 slices. Butter 9x13 baking pan. 

Roll out crescent dough and roll up an apple in each one. Lay each one into the buttered pan, seam down. Melt 2 sticks of butter in sauce pan and add sugar, barely stirring. 

Add vanilla and barely stir. The mixture will be lumpy. Pour mixture over top of dumplings coating each one. Pour Mountain Dew all around edge of pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake 30-40 minutes until golden.
