GLEN ROSE - As a part of the first ever Spring Wingding, an event held at Dinosaur Valley State Park to welcome the return or spring birds and insects, local youth were encouraged to participate in the Spring Wingding youth art contest.
The artists had to be 18 years or younger and the artwork needed to include a drawing or painting of a Texas migratory bird or insect, as outlined by the contest rules. Judging took place on March 4 with the winners announced during the Spring Wingding event.
In the 7th and 8th grade division, Gracie Fenner took home the top honors, with Richard Ruiz and Chase Reynolds finishing second and third, respectively.
Nandni Solanki took home the blue ribbon in the 6th grade division. She was followed by Lukas Matheny and Delaila Gomez in second place, and Max Hood in third place.
