GLEN ROSE – A string of potentially related burglaries across Somervell County has now reached six after two substantial thefts on or about July 5. The burglaries date back to Jan. 13.
According to the Somervell County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched Tuesday, July 5 to the 8800 block of East US Highway 67 in reference to a burglary of the business. The theft, according to the SCSD, included three flatbed trailers – two gooseneck and one bumper pull.
“Unknown suspects entered the business,” the SCSD press release states. “[…] Several other items were also taken including a flat screen TV and numerous tools.”
After the deputies arrived on scene, the SCSD report states that it is “believed from evidence found at the scene that the same suspects on [July 5] burglarized a residence in the 8400 block of East US Highway 67.”
The second theft believed to have taken place on July 5 included the unknown suspects removing a red Case brand tractor and a green 2014 Polaris crew cab ranger with a black top from the residence, according to the report.
These two burglaries come on the heels of four other potentially related incidences that have been previously reported.
The most recent of the four, a burglary of a vehicle, occurred on or about the night of April 27 in the 1100 block of Water’s Edge Lane in Glen Rose. According to SCSD documents, the items taken in the theft included a push lawn mower, Weed Eater, chainsaw and a leaf blower.
Documents show that a fourth burglary occurred April 3 in the 2200 block of County Road 1011. According to an update by the Somervell County Crime Stoppers, a person or persons " […] entered a closed garage and took an air compressor, battery charger and several assorted drills and tools."
In a separate burglary of a habitation that occurred March 10 in the 300 block of Mission St., a home was entered sometime between 4 and 10pm and two antique musical instruments were taken, according to SCSD reports,
The first of the six potentially related burglaries occurred Jan. 13 at a residence in the 2400 block of CR 313. According to the SCCS, the home was burglarized sometime between approximately 7:15am – 2pm. The report lists items taken to include guns, tools, personal electronics and cash.
