Denison Police

Arrest — A man was found sleeping in a chair on the sidewalk in the 100 block of West Main on Oct. 13. He was arrested for sleeping in public.

Arrest — Officers responded on Oct. 12 to a welfare concern call in the 100 block of Memorial Drive. A woman was arrested for public intoxication and outstanding city of Denison warrants.

Arrest — A man was observed on Oct. 12 walking in the roadway in the 700 block of North Fannin Street. When approached by an officer, he pulled a marijuana joint out of his pocket. The man was arrested for tampering with evidence, outstanding city of Denison warrants and failure to identify fugitive from justice because of giving a false name.

Traffic stop — A vehicle stopped on Oct. 12 for a traffic violation in the 1500 block of Railroad Boulevard. The driver was arrested for possession of controlled substance, prohibited substance in a correctional facility and tampering with evidence.

Public intoxication — A man was standing in the roadway in the 600 block of West Day on Oct. 13. He was intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication.

Theft — A victim stated on Oct. 13 that an unknown suspect removed two grass trimmers from his tool shed located in the 800 block of Layne Drive.

Arrest — Police dispatch received a call on Oct. 13 of an intoxicated person at the hospital in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 75 South. The man was arrested for public intoxication.

Sherman Police

Assault — An officer was dispatched on Oct. 12 to a residence in the 100 block of North Harrison Avenue in reference to a family fight and damage to one of their vehicles. Upon the officer’s arrival, the investigation revealed one of the adult male family members assaulted the other adult males. The suspect in the assault had damaged a family member’s vehicle which caused the fight. A report for assault bodily injury to a family member, assault by contact to a family member, and a criminal mischief between $100 and $750 was generated.

Criminal mischief — Sherman Police Dispatch received a call on Oct. 12 about criminal mischief in the 700 block of East Peyton Street. Upon officers arrival the caller advised someone damaged an ATM. A criminal mischief report was generated.

Assault — An officer was dispatched on Oct. 12 to the 1800 block of West Washington Street in regards to a disturbance. An investigation was conducted and it was discovered an assault occurred. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

Forgery — An officer was dispatched on Oct. 12 to a check cashing store in the 1900 block of Texoma Parkway in reference to a suspect attempting to cash a stolen check. A report for forgery financial instrument was generated.

Vehicle wreck — Sherman dispatch received a call on Oct. 12 in reference to a hit-and-run crash. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of North Loy Lake Road. An officer arrived and spoke with the caller and the victim, who informed him of the suspect’s vehicle, make, and color. A crash report was generated along with an crash involving damage to a vehicle under $200 report.

Burglary — Officer were dispatched on Oct. 12 to the 900 block of West Laurel Street in reference to a burglary. A TV and a pair of shoes were stolen from the residence. There were no signs of forced entry. A report was generated.
