Check out some fun area happenings taking place Glen Rose this week. And don’t forget to celebrate dad for Father’s Day Sunday.
1. Parent Cafe
The Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center will host Parent Cafe from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the center — 1540 Southtown Dr., Suite 102 in Granbury. This is a free class for parents led by Cook Children’s and includes an art class for kids and free dinner.
2. Nocturnal Nature Jeopardy
Ready to have some competitive fun? Then head over to Dinosaur Valley State Park at 9 p.m. Friday for Nocturnal Nature Jeopardy. Attendees will join a ranger at the amphitheater for a twist on the classic game show. All ages are welcome and for more information call 254-897-4588.
3. River Expedition
Explore the Paluxy River with a park ranger at Dinosaur State Valley’s River Expedition event starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Attendees will get wet, so make sure to wear proper attire and bring water, snacks and sunscreen. The expedition will include searching for dinosaur tracks and other neat things around the river environment. This event is for ages 10 and up. For more information call 254-897-4588.
4. Girls Night Out
Calling all women! Get to downtown Glen Rose for a Girls Night Out from 4-7:30 p.m. Saturday and shop until you drop all around the historic square. For more information call 307-631-4106.
5. Celebrate Father’s Day
Sunday is Father’s Day so make sure to celebrate dad by doing something fun. Fossil Rim will be holding a Father’s Day Sunset Safari Dinner and Tour from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the center. The evening will include dinner, homemade dessert, a tour and a special gift for dad. Cost is $90 for adults and $55 for children and reservations must be made by calling 254-897-2960.
