We will be having Swap & Shop, again, on Friday, July 21, so clean out your closets, finish your craft projects or bake up some goodies. Five dollars gets you an 8-foot table for the day.

Winners of last week’s Bunco tournament were Paula Zuniga with the most Buncos, Carole Kofke with the most wins and Lynn Glenn with the most losses. Others playing were: Janet Stacy, Betty Flanagan, Joel Glenn, Caroline Abrego, Norma Wright, Ann Parham, Louise McCoy.

Our next dance will be Friday, July 14, with Western Reunion. Doors open at 6 p.m. and cost is $5 at the door.

Activities at the Citizen’s Center beginning July 10 are Wal Mart shopping, Bingo and Chess on Monday, fitness group and wood carving on Tuesday; Bunco tournament, blood pressure screening by Glen Rose Nursing & Rehab and Dollar General shopping on Wednesday; Chess, fitness group and local grocery shopping on Thursday and Friday night dance, Bingo and local grocery shopping on Friday.

Besides the scheduled activities, there are games, puzzles, Forty Two and visiting going on every day. Don’t see it on the calendar? Make a suggestion; we’re always looking for new ideas.

If you know anyone who may need meals, transportation, an emergency response system, medical equipment, Food Stamps (SNAP) or Food Bank applications, utility assistance applications or any other senior oriented services, please call or come by the Center.

Remember that you don’t have to be a senior to come and enjoy all of our activities or eat lunch with us. You can go to our Facebook page “Somervell Citizens’ Center” for lots of pictures and the next day’s menu and scheduled events and don’t forget to “like” our page.
