A Granbury-based attorney who served some Somervell County clients is out of jail on bond after he was arrested on a felony drug possession charge.
James Matt Cummings, 58, was arrested on July 4 by a Hood County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
The arrest followed a 911 phone call that reported a male “acting suspicious with his neighbor” in the 3100 block of Shady Lane, just north of Acton Highway In Hood County.
Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose stated that deputies were told that Cummings “knocked on a neighbor’s door and gave them a drug pipe. Deputies contacted Cummings and found him in possession of 2.4 grams of meth.”
Cummings was charged with a third-degree felony count of possession of a controlled substance. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.
