The weekend is here with some fun Dinosaur Valley State Park happenings. Make it a good one, and TGIF!

1. Birding in the Valley

Make a trip to Dinosaur Valley State Park for its Birding in the Valley event taking place 8-9 a.m. Saturday. Those attending will enjoy a nice morning walk and look for birds with help from a park ranger. Participants will meet at the Park Store and binoculars are encouraged. 2. Coffee with a Ranger

If you have questions about Dinosaur Valley, the job of a park ranger or just want to enjoy some morning coffee surrounded by nature, then head over to the park for the Coffee with a Ranger event taking place at 9 a.m. Sunday. Coffee will be served around a warm fire and those interested are asked to bring their own mug. Chairs and blankets are encouraged and participants will meet at the amphitheater.

3. Bug Picking

Learn about small organisms at Dinosaur Valley’s family-friendly Bug Picking event taking place from 2-3 p.m. Sunday. Join a ranger and walk around the river studying and identifying the small organisms found there. Nets, trays and magnifiers will be provided, but those attending are welcome to bring their own.
