For the first time, Rough Creek Lodge and Resort has an international intern — Veronika Kocisova, a graduate student at the University of Nice at Sophia Antipolis in France.

She is interning at Rough Creek Lodge to complete her studies in hotel management and international business. She applied after a visit last year.

Kocisova will write a thesis and gain skills that will assist her toward her goals in hotel management.

“I am hoping to gain personal experience in how Americans provide an excellent level of customer service,” Kocisova said.

She will rotate through multiple departments and work side-by-side with senior management.

Rough Creek Lodge has trained students from across the country for the last two decades. The lodge recently formed a partnership with the Communication Studies Department at Tarleton State University, where students intern in public relations, event planning, marketing, conference management and culinary arts.

“We take training seriously,” Rough Creek General Manager Paul Boccafogli said. “With our emphasis on providing guests with a quality and memorable experience, the students leave with first-class training.”
