Saturday, Aug. 18, is our monthly dance at the Center. Grant Groblebe and Danny Prado will be entertaining you with popular country and western dance tunes, with the doors opening at 7 pm. Bring your favorite snack to share with others, and wear your dancing shoes. Cover charge is $5 per person, and tea and coffee are free. We look forward to seeing you there!
There are sure to be line dancers at the Saturday dance. Several citizens have been practicing every Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. here at the Center. Come join them, and learn some steps to line dance to the music provided by Grant and Danny.
Monday is Walmart shopping day. Call the Center to reserve your ride for 1:00 p.m. that afternoon. Also on Monday the chess players meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you can’t make Monday, then come to the Center for chess on Thursday, also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Do you like to play Bingo? Join others at 10:30 a.m. on Monday and Friday for fun and fellowship.
A 42 tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. At 11:30 a.m. Debbie will be at the Center to read your blood pressure, and Kevin Kirkpatrick from Cherokee Rose Therapy will be giving his talk on current medical and health issues at 11:45. Lunch is served at noon so stay and enjoy the meal featuring Salisbury steak.
If you are 60 years of age or older, grocery shopping rides are provided on Tuesday and Friday at 1 p.m. Call the Center by 10 a.m. and reserve your ride. The drivers can pick you up and take your home afterwards.
Don’t forget to call the Center to reserve your meal Monday through Friday. Please call before 10 a.m. so that we can get a count for Judy, our cook, for the meal that day. If you want to reserve for the whole week, you are welcome to call on Monday to let us know.
Our Center is located at 209 SW Barnard, 254-897-2139. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.in the morning to 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. Meals eaten at the Center for those 60 and over: donations are very much appreciated; those under 60 years of age: $5.50; take-out meals are $3.75 for citizens 60 and over and $5.50 for those under 60 with drink and dessert included.

Friday, August 10 – Hamburger with all the trimmings, baked beans, home fries, and fruit salad.
Monday – Fried fish, green beans, buttered corn, hushpuppies, cookies.
Tuesday – Chili dog, potato salad, baked beans and apple cobbler.
Wednesday – Salisbury steak, parslied new potatoes, broccoli, roll, applesauce.
Thursday – Barbecue pork, scalloped potatoes, cabbage, cornbread, chocolate pudding.
Friday – Lemon chicken, rice pilaf, spinach, roll, and mixed fruit.
