Residents of Glen Rose feared the Riverwalk Project would float away after several days of heavy rain last week.
City workers were at the Riverwalk Thursday keeping a close eye on the rising river and its turbulent currents. Friday and Saturday allowed a deep breath with clear skies, but the thunderstorms returned Sunday night, flooding the river again.
The Paluxy River flooded, at some points submersing the walkway under the murky brown water, but it did not pose any real threat to the project, city officials said.
“The water did get up. We did have a lot of debris and mud, but I don’t think we had any damage,” Peggy Busch, Glen Rose city secretary, said.
