A penny drive and many good hearts at Glen Rose High School turned into a story of the proverbial loaves and fishes.

A few pennies multiplied and turned in hundreds and then thousands of cents. By the end of the drive, Glen Rose students had raised nearly $600 for students whose families were affected by the devastating fires in Bastrop.

The senior class got the most points for money raised.

Next month the Student Council officers plan to travel to Bastrop to deliver the money to Bastrop High School Students.

If anyone wants to contribute to the donation, please contact Tricia Sexton at 254-898-3838.
