Anyone who doesn't want to cook and would like to share in community camaraderie is invited to the 12th annual free Thanksgiving dinner at Hammond's Barbecue.
Owner Larry Higgins said he expected about 250 people, more than a year ago because of the weak economy. The barbecue dinner with all the fixings begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m.
Higgins and his family of employees have been busy this week making preparations, including smoking turkeys.
While the meal is free to all, anyone who would like to can make a donation. Higgins then will present a check to the Somervell County Food Bank.
