Thieves made off with nearly $4,000 worth of equipment over the Thanksgiving holiday from a construction job site in Somervell County.
Sheriff Deputy Alan West responded to a call around 9 a.m. Dec. 1 when a worker arrived to find that the fence surrounding the site had been cut open.
A locked 16-foot gooseneck trailer inside the fence had several items stored on it. The suspects broke off a bracket that held the lock in place.
The worker described the missing items:
• A Briggs and Stratton 8,000 watt gas generator valued at $1,557
• A Rigid 32-gallon generator with a Honda engine valued at $800
• Four belt harnesses with tools valued at $1,600 total
