Six individuals pleaded guilty to a slew of offenses in the 249th District Court in Somervell County Wednesday while six more were ordered to prepare for jury trials.
Byron Chase Hyles pleaded guilty to more than 30 counts of felony offenses including burglary of a habitation. Hyles will serve eight years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice concurrently for all 30 offenses. He will also received 216 days credit for time served.
Corey Earl Scott pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child. He received deferred adjudication with five years probation. Scott was also ordered to pay a $750 fine, $500 in attorney fees and to have no contact with his victim.
Joshua Lee Carr pleaded guilty to three counts of credit or debit card abuse and two counts of fraudulent use of identifying information. Carr received 14 months in a state jail for all counts and will serve his sentences concurrently, receiving 58 days credit for time served.
Wanda Denise Garcia pleaded guilty and will serve 14 months in state jail with credit for time served, 118 days, for two counts of forgery of a financial instrument.
Dillon Reese Baker pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, more than four ounces less than five pounds. He received deferred adjudication and will serve 60 days in a work-release program beginning June 1. Baker was also ordered to pay a $750 fine and will be on probation for five years.
Six other offenders, including Bobby Joe Ritchie, Kevin Lee West, Raymond Thomas Craig, Jr., Shashank Giri, Ronnie Bret Lackey and Kenneth Charles Moore were ordered to prepare for jury trial, which should be scheduled during the next 30 days.
