Two people remain in the hospital after a collision and rollover on Monday morning on State Highway 144 south of Glen Rose.

Mark Reinhardt, a retired Texas Ranger who was in a pickup truck involved in the mishap, was taken to Hillrest Hospital in Waco after the accident. He is to be transferred to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

Initial reports said Reinhardt was the driver, but he was a passenger. The driver, Mack Bennett of Granbury, was treated and released.

Reinhardt worked the Somervell, Johnson and Ellis county territories when he was a Ranger.

Betty Beeman Shaw, who works at Glen Rose Medical Center, remains in a Fort Worth hospital. She was driving a Quest mini-van headed north on SH 144.

The accident occurred around 8 a.m. south of the Somervell-Bosque line.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
