An 18-wheeler lost control on the curve at U.S. Highway 67 past County Road 2008 last Thursday at about 12:45 p.m. and turned over, dumping its load of lime all over the highway. Workers with the Texas Department of Transportation closed off U.S. 67 and diverted traffic on County Road 205. The Somervell County Fire Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety and a private environmental clean-up crew worked to clear the highway of wreckage and the lime, which had to be hose off the roadway. The highway finally reopened around 6 p.m. There was no word on the driver's condition.
