The Glen Rose school board added three new dual credit classes during their meeting Sept. 22.
Algebra, trigonometry were approved as level four weighted classes for this school year. Calculus will be added in 2009-2010.
GRISD students will be able to earn nine college hours through the courses. The district now offers high school students 37 college hours through dual credit courses, in addition to nine advanced placement courses.
The board also decided to change their mileage reimbursement plan to mirror the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (TCPA) plan.
The GRISD rate has been 48.5 cents per mile since fall 2007. The current TCPA rate is 58.5.
Mileage reimbursement is only issued when an official school vehicle is not available.
Other business covered at Monday’s meeting included approving the purchase of two buses and a suburban.
The Professional Development System Calendar for 2008-2009 teacher evaluations was approved and the districts investment plans was reviewed.
Board members held an executive session to discuss the purchase of real property. No action was taken after the session and the meeting was adjourned.
