Special to the Reporter

Alpha Delta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met for the first meeting of the new year at the home of Debbie Davis. Hostesses were Debbie Davis, Melodie Isham and Julie Locke. Due to the weather (raining), the outside pool party was moved inside at the last moment and all was saved. A delicious meal of chicken spaghetti, angel biscuits, salad and pound cake with fresh fruit and whipped cream was served. The sorority had great time visiting, catching up after the summer break, and eating.

The official meeting was called to order by President Cynthia Moates. After new and old business was completed, committee reports were given including updates that all three scholarships awarded by Alpha Delta Beta have been paid to scholarship recipients. Updates were given on the Executive Board Meeting.

A special “Thank You” was offered to Debbie Davis for her dedication and diligence in completing member yearbooks which is a monumental task and one she does with such grace and accuracy continuing in honor of sorority sister Glenda Butler who did the yearbook for years before her passing.

The 2007-2008 Presidential Scrapbook was presented to President Cynthia Moates for her service as President by Tammy Dooley and Melodie Isham, Scrapbook Committee Co-Chairs. Door Prizes were won by Evalene Howell, Deanna Hardie and Peggy Lytle.

After official business was concluded the evening progressed to a special Formal Pledge Ritual Ceremony in honor of accepting Julie Locke, Lori Magner and Shirley Reinke as new ADB Sorority Pledges. Each were presented with a Beta Sigma Pledge Pin and Ribbon. ADB is a Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority which began in 1931 by Walter W.
