AMARILLO - Emily Houston Barton of Bluff Dale earned a top-10 finish in Junior Tie-down Roping with Hava Blue Boy, a 2005 Bay Roan American Quarter Horse Gelding, during the FedEx Open competition at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show, held Nov. 6-21 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

“The AQHA World Championship Show is the premier event for AQHA members,” said Don Treadway Jr., AQHA Executive Vice President. “Congratulations to Emily Houston Barton for achieving such a great honor with Hava Blue Boy.”

The AQHA World Championship Show is the largest, richest single-breed world Championship horse show in existence, with more than $2.7 million awarded to 3,464 entries from 46 states, six Canadian provinces, Brazil, Germany, France, Sweden and the United Kingdom. To qualify for the invitational event, horses must have earned a predetermined number of points in AQHA-approved shows from Aug. 1, 2008-July 31, 2009.
