We were glad to have Jerry Harp, and Patrick & Judy Abrego visiting the Citizen’s Center last week.

The “42” tournament winners last week were:  1st place Dortha Beck & Floyd Flanary, 2nd place Roy Mercer & James Kelley, 3rd place Lana Newman & Royce Stacy, 4th place Zula Hunter & Cora Harkins.  The other teams participating were:  Patsy Thompson & Barbara Kayser, Janelle Gartrell & Alice Lance, Trey Welch & Ann Parham, Loveda Swaim & Grady May, Veda Gosdin & Nancy Moore, and Mary Voss & Marcy Capell.

The Granbury Opera Shows we are planning to attend are “By By Love” on Friday, November 20th at 2:30 p.m. and “Christmas in New York” on Sunday, December 13th at 2:30 p.m.  We must have at least 20 people to receive the reduced price of $10.00 a ticket. The tickets are usually $29, $27, and $25.  The money for the tickets has to be turned in to the Opera House ten days before the show.  As of this writing I have only six people signed up.  Please call the Citizen’s Center at 254-897-2139 to get on the list.

Activities at the Citizen’s Center beginning on November 16th:  “42”, puzzles and quilting on Monday; ceramics, and needlework on Tuesday; “42” tournament, health screening and Clark Cole on Wednesday; TOPS and David’s grocery shopping on Thursday; bingo with Nicole, shop & swap, quilting and Brookshire’s’ grocery shopping on Friday.

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service is offering a Food Handlers class at the Citizen’s Center on Monday, November 23rd at 1:15 p.m.  The cost will be $15.00 a person.  Anyone who works in the food service industry should have this class.  This class is open to the public.

The Citizen’s Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th for the Thanksgiving Holidays.

We desperately need volunteers to help out in several different areas at the Citizen’s Center.  They include our volunteer driver program, leading activities, and etc.
