After six years of teaching sixth and seventh grade history and English at Glen Rose Junior High, Lisa Miller will begin her administrative career as the assistant principal at Henderson Junior High in Stephenville.

Miller has resided in Stephenville for the last six years and is still smiling about the board’s decision to hire her.

“I am really excited about the opportunity to join the junior high family,” Miller said. “I can’t wait to get started!”

But as excited as she is, she is going to miss the Glen Rose Junior High campus.

“I really enjoyed the six years I’ve been at Glen Rose,” Miller said. “I’m looking forward to the next step in my career.”

Glen Rose Superintendent understands Stephenville’s decision to hire Miller, even though he is sorry to see her go.

“Lisa’s done a great job for us and I think she’ll do a great job in Stephenville,” Rotan said. “I think we’re very fortunate in the quality of our teachers who are willing to continue their education and pursue higher degrees.”

Miller has been with GRISD for six years and has nine years of teaching experience. She obtained her master’s degree in educational administration at Tarleton State University in May 2008.

“I’ve always had a philosophy to hire teachers who want to move on and up and even though they might leave, they definitely leave their mark and improve our program while they are here.”
