Glen Rose Junior High (GRJH) Optimist Youth of the Month for November were Kiffany Kelly and Jared Thames.

Kelly is an “AB” honor roll student, an honor student and is enrolled in all Pre-AP classes.

Her leadership rolls include the Junior National Honor Society (NJHS) and she is a soccer referee for the ninth grade.

Kelly’s achievements include soccer medals and trophies, awards in basketball and track. She also participates in journalism.

Kelly remains active in the community through monthly nursing home visits with NJHS. She also participates in food drive collections and is a member of Relay for Life team for NJHS.

Kelly’s parents are Aly and Mike Kelly.

Thames is on the “AB” honor roll and is enrolled in all Pre-AP classes. He is the vice president of the GRJH.

Thames’ achievements include qualifying for the Duke University Talent Search, joining NJHS, becoming a member of the GRJH Symphonic Band and participating in football, basketball and track.

He gets involved in the community by refereeing for the Glen Rose Soccer Association. He is also member of the Glen Rose Methodist Youth Group and visits the nursing home with NJHS.

Thames’ mother is Pat Thames.
