Lauren Branch, a 2004 Glen Rose High School graduate, recently graduated from basic training for the US Army.

Private (PVT) Branch went to Fort Leonardwood, MO for basic training. PVT Branch stayed on the post for Advanced Individaul Training (AIT). She trained to become a Nuclear Biological Chemical specialist, or 74D, and graduated on Sept. 9.

Branch is participating in the popular Home Town Recruiting program. In the program, successful Army graduates return to their hometown the help recruit future soldiers. She will be recruiting in Cleburne until Sept. 24.

Branch is due at Fort Hood, Texas on October 5, with her husband Private First Class (PFC) Destry Branch.

PFC Branch graduated from the Brazos River Charter School in 2004. He is a tanker operator, or 19K, in the army. He is stationed in Fort Irwin, CA until Sept. 25 and has orders to report to Fort Hood in October.

PVT Branch is the daughter of Larry and Angela Heff of Glen Rose.
