Glynna, Sharon, Craig and Kinsey Dotson, Gary Hively, and Ronda McIlvain visited the Citizen’s Center last week.
Lunch is served at the Citizen’s Center Monday through Friday at noon. All ages are welcome to eat lunch with us. The cost is $5 per person, and for those 60 years of age and over it is $3.50. Please call us by 9:30 a.m. of the day you plan to have lunch with us. If you know a day in advance, that’s even better.
Thanks to the Internet or our computer system, last week’s article didn’t make it to the Reporter. Hopefully you saw the ad in the paper advertising our recognition of Glenda Tilley’s 25 years of service to the elderly of Somervell County. If you have the opportunity, join us at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept 9, for the celebration.
Rosie Mimms has started getting things together for the Queen’s Contest on Oct. 10. If you are 60 or older and would like to be one of the contestants, call Rosie at 254-898-8167. We had such a good time last year. Janelle Gartrell won the contest last year, which was the first Queen’s Contest held in Glen Rose.
We had our August birthday party on the 26th. Margie Hartsfield came from Stephenville to entertain us. Oleta Conger and Dwain Sandlin celebrated their birthdays and each won a prize for being the oldest present.
Last week we celebrated the “42” Tournament Champs for 2009. The top team winning with 5 wins through the year was Dorothy Jo Osborn & Ila Verne Stull. Pictures were taken and everybody received a loaf of banana bread from Mary Baker, Tournament Judge.
On the same day we had our regularly scheduled “42” tournament.
