Congress established the National Day of Prayer in 1952. Each year millions of people set aside time on the first Thursday of May to pray for America and its leaders. Everyone is invited to participate in prayer at the gazebo in Glen Rose at noon for National Day of Prayer hosted by Somervell County Ministerial Alliance.

The Glen Rose Lions Club is hosting its 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Squaw Valley Golf Course on Friday, May 9. Tee off is at 12:30 p.m. There will be several interesting contests including a hole-in-one, prizes on all par threeís for a hole-in-one, buy an eagle, golf ball lottery, door prizes, a Ranch House BBQ lunch, putting for $25,000 and much more! The Nancy Smith Cemetery Association will be holding a bake sale Saturday, May 10, in front of Glen Rose Discount Drug.

The Class of 1998 is hosting a reunion on July 26, at an event facility owned by Wes and Ali Ice in Glen Rose. Drinks and appetizers will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. RSVP is required.
