The 18th Annual Somervell County Youth Fish Day will be held Saturday, May 9, at Squaw Creek Lake Marina. The annual youth fish day is sponsored by the Texas Game Wardens Association and Somervell County 4-H.

Fish Day is open to all Somervell County Youth with a parent or guardian in attendance. Photo I.D. must be presented at the gate. There is no entry fee at the gate entering the lake for this event and all family members are invited.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the gate and ID will be required. Gates will not open until 8 a.m. All names (adults and kids) and ages of youth will be requested. Fishing will start at 9 a.m. and last until 11 a.m. At 11:15 all youth will line up for a picture and at 11:30 a.m. poles will be turned in and a free hot dog lunch served. Door prizes will be awarded this year for youth age K thru 12, must be present to win. Everyone must exit the park by 2:30 p.m.

Bring your fishing rod if you have one. If you do not have one the Texas Game Warden Association will issue one to youth for the day. Also worms will be provided as bait to youth. Non-youth will have to furnish their own fishing rods and bait. T shirts will be given free to youth ages K thru 12.

In case of rain, fish day will be held on Sunday, May 10, 1 - 3 p.m.
