We are planning to attend Ring in the New Year at the Granbury Opera on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 2:30 p.m.  The show will feature Jolie Holliday, the headliner of the 2009 Texas State Fair along with The New Wave Band. Joining Jolie will be Los Angeles recording artist, Kevin Kratzke who is best known on the Opera House stage as Buddy Holly and Hank Williams. As usual, we have to have at least 20 people signed up in order to get our tickets at $10. Please come by the Citizen’s Center and sign up and pay your $10. We will meet at the Granbury Opera unless you need a ride. 

The “42” tournament winners last week were: 1st place winner was the team of Royce Stacy & Clark Stewart. 2nd place was the team of Eddie & Billie Flanary. 3rd place was the team of Loveda Swaim & Grady May. 4th place winner was the team of Dorothy Jo Osborn & Ila Verne Stull.  The other teams participating were Veda Gosdin & Nancy Moore, Janelle Gartrell & Alice Lance, Anne Parham & Trey Welch, Floyd Flanary & Dortha Beck, Zula Hunter & Cora Harkins, Billie Jean Pickens & Mary Pruett, Don Baker & Pat Thompson, Roy Mercer & James Kelley, and Polly Schleicher & Marcy Coppell.  A big “Thank You” to Mary Baker for serving as tournament judge.  

Activities at the Citizen’s Center beginning Dec.  28:  “42” and Wii on Monday; ceramics and needlework on Tuesday; David’s grocery shopping on Wednesday; Brookshire’s grocery shopping and Granbury Opera House New Year Eve’s show on Thursday; closed for New Year’s Day on Friday. 

The Citizen’s Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24-25, for the Christmas Holiday. We are also closed on Friday, Jan. 1, for New Years Day.  The Citizen’s Center staff would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
