Incumbent Sheriff Greg Doyle and former deputy Lincoln Matheny have filed to run for Somervell County Sheriff in next May's election.
So far, 10 other candidates have filed for county offices.
Andrew Lucas, currently Glen Rose's city attorney, has filed to run for county attorney. Incumbent Ron Hankins is not seeking re-election.
Incumbent Darlene Chambers will run again for tax assessor-collector. Yolanda Reynolds also is vying for the position.
As previously reported, four candidates are running for county commissioner.
Incumbent Zack Cummings will face challenger Larry Hulsey for the Precinct 1 position. Kenneth Wood and Marty McPherson have filed to run for Precinct 3.
For County Constable, Precinct 2, incumbent Alan Thompson is seeking re-election. So far, the only challenger to file is Victor Castillo.
For County Constable, Precinct 1, incumbent Karolee Wolfe will run again. So far she is unopposed.
This Thursday is the deadline for candidates to file in county elections, so the the field may get more crowded. The Reporter will post a list of candidates and races online and in next week's print edition.
