The Glen Rose High School varsity Tiger baseball team will be playing Carrollton Ranchview in a three-game bi-district playoff series beginning Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Burleson. Game 2 will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, and if needed Game 3 will follow Game 2.

The Somervell County Cancer Support Group will have a family hamburger cook-out on Monday, May 5 at 6 p.m. in Heritage Park. Hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as music will be provided for cancer survivors, their caretakers and friends.

Glen Rose ISD will host an Open House to showcase the newly constructed junior high science labs. The open house will be held Tuesday, May 6 from 4-6 p.m. A ribbon cutting by the Glen Rose-Somervell County Chamber of Commerce will take place at 5 p.m. The public is invited to tour the new facilities.

Congress established the National Day of Prayer in 1952. Each year millions of people set aside time on the first Thursday of May to pray for America and its leaders. Everyone is invited to participate in prayer at the gazebo in Glen Rose at noon for National Day of Prayer hosted by Somervell County Ministerial Alliance.

There will be a dance on Friday, May 2, at the Citizenís Center from 7-9 p.m. This is a fundraiser for SCCOA featuring the music of Margie Hartsfield, and will cost $4.

The Glen Rose Lions Club will host its 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Squaw Valley Golf Course on May 9. Tee off is at 12:30 p.m. There will be several contests, a Ranch House BBQ lunch, putting for $25,000 and much!
