STAR CITY, ARKANSAS—Graveside services for William ‘Bill’ Charles Hassard, 90, of Dallas, will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at O’Neel Cemetery near Star City, Arkansas with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Arrangements were made by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.

He was born in Duluth, MN to the late William R. and Jean McPike Hassard.

Also preceding him in death were his wife, Vicki Carolea Scott Hassard, a daughter, Alice “Lecie” Elizabeth Hassard, and a brother, John R. Hassard.

Mr. Hassard was raised in New York, graduating magna cum laude from Long Island University with a BS in accounting.

He moved to Dallas in 1951 to work for Western Union Telegraph Co., followed by a job with East Texas Motor Freight Lines. He was a partner in Steere Tank Lines and COO of Allied Insurance Group. He retired as CEO and chairman of Republic Financial Services.

Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Farber, Christine Hassard and Carolea Hassard; two grandchildren, Becky Farber and Will Farber; and one great-grandchild, Harley Farber, and his sister, Alice Walker.
