WEATHERFORD—Connie Johnston, 80, passed away on Friday, Jan. 5.
Connie was born to Ralph William Clay and Margaret Adair Sutphen in Stockton, California. She had two younger sisiters, Robin and Linda.
Connie attended Linden High where she graduated with honors. Upon graduation, Connie attended nursing school and then worked in San Francisco where she met Wiley Johnston. They were married in 1957.
Settling in Texas, Connie had three sons.
In 1973, the Johnstons got an opportunity to move to Iran where Wiley worked for Bell Helicopter. They left in 1979 during the Iranian Revolution and settled in Bedford, Texas.
Upon her husbands death, Connie moved to Glen Rose where she developed an affinity for the town and its people.
She was preceded in passing by her mother, father and sisters.
Connie adored her family and friends, and good conversation. She was a seeker of truth and knowledge and loved surfing the net. She was cherished and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Johnston of Keller, Keith Johnston of Weatherford and Dean Johnston of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Paul and Tyler Johnston, Brandon, Britanny and Brooke Johnston, and Corrine, Coleman and Lily Johnston; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
