GLEN ROSE - Timothy “Tim” Wayne Spears, 50,  passed away, Monday, June 11, 2018, at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Happy Trails Cowboy Church in Glen Rose. Pastor JJ Jennings will be officiating.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Squaw Creek Cemetery.

Tim was born July 13, 1967 in Plainview, Texas to Bill and Janiece (Rector) Spears. Tim was employed as a land developer and was a big part of developing communities around Texas, especially in his favorite place on Earth-- Somervell County. He enjoyed to work and didn't enjoy days off, of course unless it was for the Dallas Cowboys or a friend in need. Tim was always for a person in need. He was an avid chef and what you would refer to as a grillmaster. He spent most of his weekends working on his career, enjoying sports or finding a new adventure to experience. He also enjoyed hauling horses, flying, meeting new people and his friends.

Tim  was one proud Papa to his infant grandson Bentley and would talk about Cody and Bentley everywhere he went.

Tim is survived by his son, Cody Timothy Spears of Stephenville; his grandchild, Bentley Ethan Spears; three brothers, Rodney and Rita Spears of Florida, Tommy and Jan Spears of Glen Rose, Eddie Duvall of Glen Rose and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Janiece, along with mentor Larry Purifoy of Glen Rose.
