GLEN ROSE - Andrew Joe “AJ” Pechal, 84, formerly of Glen Rose and Granbury, passed away July 19, 2018 at the VA Center in Temple.
Andrew was born Dec. 31, 1933 in the Little Flock community in Bell County to the late William and Rosalie (Hlavaty) Pechal. He married Linda J. Skipper on May 27, 2000 in Glen Rose. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2015.
A.J. served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 0491 in Granbury and SPJST Lodge 24 in Cyclone. He worked at various jobs, retiring from Maco Manufacturing in Belton in 2000 and then worked with his wife as a child care provider.
Survivors include sisters: Martha Tomlinson and Margaret (Tom) Gibson and brothers: Anton (Carole) and Arnold (Frances) Pechal, all of Temple; stepsons: Tony (Pam) of Iredell, Chris of Glen Rose and Jeremy (Shanna) Skipper of Granbury, 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Louis and Albert Pechal and his parents, all of Temple.
Services will be July 24 at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9-11 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Post Oak Cemetery in Somervell County.
