GLEN ROSE - Jacqueline Elizabeth "Jackie" Drake, 79, of Glen Rose passed away Sept. 29 in her home with her family gathered around her.

A service was held Sunday in Glen Rose High School Auditorium. Burial was in Squaw Creek Cemetery.

Jackie was born May 26, 1932, in Dallas to John H. Fisk and Nettie Belle Ribble Fisk. She married Earnest Junior Drake on Sept. 10, 1949, in Seagoville.

She owned and operated Jackie's Daycare for 22 years from 1966 to 1988. She was a substitute teacher for the Glen Rose Independent School District for 23 years from 1988 to 2011 and for the Walnut Springs Independent School District.

She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Drake, grandson, Rhett Butler, sisters Yvonne House Wright and Paula Oberlander and brother, Zane Fisk.

Survivors are her husband of 62 years, Earnest Drake, of Glen Rose; daughter, Pam Burkhart, and husband, Brant, of Granbury; son, Jerry Drake, and wife, Margarita, of Midlothian; sisters Virginia Defoore of Conroe, Glenda Adams and husband, Charles, of Conroe, Rose Browning and husband, Rex, of Athens; twin brother, Johnnie Fisk, and wife, Barbara, of Athens; grandchildren Shayre and Fred Strickland of Christoval, Jay and Chip Schmitz of Aubrey, Shawna and Mike Westbrook of Glen Rose, Alissa and Ben Ford of Benbrook, Greg and Libby May of Fort Worth, Stuart and Christa Burkhart of Fort Worth, Josh May of Houston, John Burkhart of Dover, Ark., Israel and Regina Bello of Fort Worth, Raymundo and Noemy Reza of Venus, Indira and Saul Arvizu of Waxahachie; and great-grandchildren Nathan, Neileigh, Hannah, Katie, C.J., Taylor, Mason, Grace, Braden, Addison, MaryAlice, Preston, Zhane, Alex, Hana, Lindsay, Raymundo, Aliyah, Alexa, Alina Isabelle, Damian and Ivana.
