John McClure, the dying grandfather who wanted his family to have one last vacation together last summer and chose to spend it in Glen Rose, passed away Nov. 4. He was 70.
The McClure family, who lives in Cypress near Houston, plans to hold a celebration of his life later this month, possibly on Nov. 20.
The family requests no flowers or plants, but that people who want to remember him “save their money on something more important,” his wife, Sabrina, said.
“John loved the outdoors and his beauty was in the trees and land,” she addeed. “We will be listing a charity in an upcoming update."
Glen Rose rolled out the red carpet for John and Sabrina McClure and their two granddaughters. They received a guided tour through Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, camped at Dinosaur Valley State Park, visited Dinosaur World and went swimming at Oakdale Park.
“Our family would like to thank each of you for your support during this path we have had to endure,” Sabrina said.
Letters of condolence may be sent to the McClure family at 11630 Mueller Cemetery Road, Cypress, TX 77429.
