CLEBURNE — Carol Jean Martin, a former resident of Glen Rose, died on Oct. 5. She was 60 years old.
Carol was born July 23, 1950, in Wenatchee, Wash., to James B. and Barbara (Williams) Martin. She had many fond memories of her life and family in the Northwest. She moved with her family while a
teenager to California, where she graduated from College Park High School in Pleasant Hill.
Carol later married and her children, all born in California are: Giovanni Paul, Nicholas James, Antonio Pascual Granucci, Robert Eugene and Barbara Maxine Mawby.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara (Williams) Galvez, and stepfather, Pascual Galvez; brothers David A. Galvez, Richard S. Galvez and Daniel C. Galvez; and sister, Cristina L. Galvez.
She was preceded in death by her father, James B. Martin, brother Robert Alan Martin, her son Robert Mawby, her grandson Jimmy Mawby and her daughter Barbara Mawby. There are six living grandchildren: Sayde, Dominica, Antonio, Giovanni, Andrew Grannucci and Kayla Mawby.
She gave loving care to her Granny, Alice I. Williams, during her stroke-related end of life, a promise she made while young and willingly kept. Along with her children and grandchildren are special children and grandchildren in Texas who knew she loved them and gave her love and assistance in her life and her courageous struggle with cancer. She also was assisted by Mission Hospice in Cleburne.
The family thanks those who wish to contribute to a favorite charity in her memory.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Bethel Salter AME Church, 106 Olive St., in Cleburne.
