CLEBURNE — Eda Elizabeth Collins, 73, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, in a Cleburne nursing facility.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Squaw Creek Cemetery near Glen Rose.
Eda Elizabeth Perkins was born on Jan. 19, 1935, in San Angelo to the late Andrew and Ivy Blakley Perkins. On March 14, 1949, she was married to Marrie James Collins, Sr. Mrs. Collins has lived in Cleburne for many years and worked as a housekeeper hospitals and nursing homes before retiring. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Cleburne.
She was preceded in death by a son and grandchild.
Survivors include husband, Marrie J. Collins, Sr., of Cleburne; sons Marrie J. Collins, Jr., and wife, Fay, of Keene, William Collins and wife, Dotty, of Cleburne, Mike Collins and wife, Brenda, of Springfield, Mo., and Russell Collins and wife, Mary, of Marlow, Okla.; daughters, Mary Stephens and husband, Gary, of Cleburne and Janet Mitchell and husband, Jerry, of Cleburne; 38 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a great, great-grandchild and a number of other relatives and friends.
