RAINBOW - Waldeen Layne, 94, passed away Sunday, July 3 in Glen Rose.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at Rainbow Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6.

Mrs. Layne was born July 18, 1916, in Rainbow to Jack Ervin and Susan Viola Miller. She married Herman Wayland Layne in March 1934. She was a lifelong resident of Rainbow and Somervell County. She loved to crochet and to do embroidery.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, three brothers, three sisters and a son, Wendell Wayland Layne.

Survivors are her son, Lowell Jay Layne, and wife, Mary, of Denton; a daughter, Linda Layne Branham, and husband, Travis, of Stephenville; grandchildren Laurie and Rick Boos of Fredericksburg, Julie and Doug Renner of Denton, David Layne of Denton, Lee and Shannon Branham of Rainbow and Weldon and Susan Branham of Stephenville; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy Miller, and wife, Robena, of Glen Rose; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
