WALNUT SPRINGS - Nathan E. Morse, 90, of Walnut Springs, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009, in a Stephenville nursing facility.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Walnut Springs Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev. Jason Sharp, officiating. Burial was in Fulton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Troy Powell, Marlin Dempsey, Bruce McCombs, James Lowery, Jerrell Burleson and Robert Dagley.
Mr. Morse was born June 21, 1919, in Eldorado, Kansas. He was a son of the late John Clifford Morse and Mildred Barbara Morse. Nathan married Doris Critchfield on December 10, 1944 with whom he had three sons, Danny, Terry and Don. He married Lucille Reeves in 1969 and she preceded him in death in 1991.
Mr. Morse had lived in Walnut Springs for many years where he operated a café before retirement. He kept busy in the community with Meals on Wheels and helping at the local school. Nathan enjoyed walking and visiting with townfolk along the way. He was a member of the Walnut Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons Danny Morse of Lindstrom, Minn., Terry Morse and wife, Donna, of Corvallis, Oregon, and Don Morse and wife, Cindy, of Dublin, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and stepsons Buddy Michael Reeves, Stafford Reeves, and Don Reeves, several step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
