John W. Bogadi

NEMO John W. Bogadi, 87, formerly of South Milwaukee, Wis., passed away Thursday, July 15, in Glen Rose.

A memorial service was held on Monday, July 19, at Wiley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to charities of choice.

Bogadi was born June 20, 1923, in West Allis, Wis., to Stephen and Antonia Bozich Bogadi. After high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. Following his discharge, he worked for Northwest Airlines for 37 years. He and his wife raised five children.

After his retirement, Bogadi became an avid fan of South Milwaukee High School sports. Eventually he was nicknamed "Rocket John."

Survivors are his wife, Myrtle Bogadi; sons Lee and wife, Rita, and Al and wife, Kim, and Mark Bogadi; a daughter, Karen, and husband, Nemo; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
