NEMO — Willie Joe “Joey” Kliem, 62, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his Nemo residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Glen Rose First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow.

Joey was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Bonham, to Willie George Kliem and Eva Jean Willis Kliem. He married Loice Easley, Aug. 9, 1983, in Cleburne. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked as the senior safety manager for the Gilbane Construction Co. Mr. Kliem had resided in the Glen Rose area for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cynthia Gail Allen on July 31, 2006.

Survivors include wife, Loice Kliem of Nemo; children, Shalby Ross Kliem of Houston, Mandy Jo Swift and husband, Justin, of Midfield, Eva Dawn Kliem of Whitney; step-children, Telisa Saffer and husband, Michael, of Glen Rose, Greg Cummings and wife, Lise’, of Blessing; step son-in-law, Randy Allen of Nemo; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Robinson and husband, Frank, of Bellville and two nieces.

Memorials should be made to the American Cancer Society.
