Glen Rose High School freshman Jocelyn Mims, who advanced to the Class 4A state cross country meet as an individual qualifier this season, has earned a spot on the Texas Girls Coaches Association's all-state cross country team.

Mims was also named to the Class 4A all-region team by the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas.

“Jocelyn had a great year,” GRHS girls cross country coach Ramsey Ghazal said. “She led us to our first district title in a long time. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”

With Mims leading the way, the Lady Tigers won the girls cross country district title for the first time in 15 years.

Mims placed 11th in the Region I-4A cross country meet in Lubbock, qualifying for the state meet by being fifth among the individuals who did not qualify as part of a team.

At the state meet in Round Rock, Mims recorded a time of 12:43.46, and finished 49th out of 149 runners in the Class 4A division.
