Glen Rose High School won championships in three of the five divisions in the Jurrassic Classic tennis tournament hosted by the Tigers at the GRHS courts on March 8.

Harrison Hawkins easily won the boys singles title for coach Gregger Yeager’s Tigers, topping two opponents from Denton Braswell. He won the semifinal match 6-0, 6-0, then posted a 6-0, 6-1 triumph in the final.

In girls doubles, the GRHS team of Emma Bozarth and Annie Bryant won the title. They beat a team from Braswell, 6-2, 6-0, then topped a duo from Meridian, 6-1, 6-0. In the final, they notched a 6-4, 6-4 victory over another Braswell team.

The GRHS mixed doubles duo of Logan Smith and Briley Green earned the title. They beat a team from Meridian 6-0, 6-1, then eliminated a duo from Poolville, 6-0, 6-2. Their championship win was over another Meridian team, 6-2, 7-5.

In girls doubles, the GRHS team of Harlie Thompson and Ashley Mena earned third place. They defeated an Eastand team, 6-3, 6-3, then lost to the tournament’s eventual runner-up team from Braswell, 6-2, 7-5. In the third-place match, Thompson and Mena downed a team from Meridian, 3-6, 6-3 (10-4 in the super tiebreaker).
