In the Wildcat Relays on Feb. 26 in Godley, the Glen Rose Lady Tigers earned second place in the varsity team standings as sophomore Alexis Mims won the 800-meter run.

They recorded 97 points, while Midlothian Heritage won with 107 points. Brock was in third place, only one point behind Glen Rose.

Alexis Mims’ winning time in the girls 800 was 2:36.58. Teammate Taylor Fellers took fourth, in 2:40.85.

Glen Rose took second and third in the girls 400-meter run. Shalyn Wedel was second with a time of 1:05.46, and Alexis Mims was third with a 1:06.13.

The Lady Tigers also collected second and third place in the 1,600. Jocelyn Mims was second with a time of 5:53.86, and Avery Turner was third, at 5:54.48.

Glen Rose did it again in the 3,200, taking second and third, with Jocelyn Mims and Ashlyn Williams, respectively.

Anne Chapman gave the Lady Tigers a second-place finish in the girls 100-meter run. She finished in 12.93 seconds, just .02 behind the winner, from Godley.

The Glen Rose girls 400-meter relay team (Maddie Mooney, Salma DeRaza, Chapman and Valeria Castro) were fourth, with a time of 55.72.

The Lady Tigers earned third place in the 1,600 relay. Alexis Mims, Wedel, Fellers and Lilla Boyett posted a time of 4:30.98.

Ally Andress took third place in the 200-meter run with a time of 28.43.

Glen Rose finished fourth in the junior varsity girls team standings with 54 points. Springtown won that division with 121 points.

In the varsity boys division, Glen Rose took fifth place with 46 points. Brock won with 102 points, followed by Midlothian Heritage with 99.

Drayden James of Glen Rose earned second place in the boys 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 42.90 seconds.

Orrin Miller gave the Tigers a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run, with a time of 10:48.13. Miller was fourth in the 1,600-meter run, posting a time of 5:00.01.

The Tigers grabbed third place in the boys 1,600-meter relay, as Brick Umpress, James, Teddy Starnes and Dakota Paschall posted a time of 3:42.70.

Paschall took fourth place in the boys 100-meter run, with a time of 11.81 seconds.

The Glen Rose boys 400-meter relay team (James, Garrett Gilbreath, Paschall and Umpress) took fourth place, crossing the finish line in 44.85 seconds.

In the 800 boys relay, Glen Rose (Gilbreath, Cameron Griffin, Starnes and Byron Tatum) were fifth with a time of 1:35.84.

In the junior varsity division, the Glen Rose boys were fifth, with 54 points while winner Springtown recorded 133 points.
