GLEN ROSE — Incoming Glen Rose High School freshman Camdyn Hinton and her FW Sister Cities volleyball team captured the 16U gold medal at the Tricolore Games in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Thursday, July 12.

Opening ceremonies for the 2018 Tricolore Games were held Saturday, July 7, and they concluded with closing ceremonies on July 13. 

The FW team beat two teams from Italy, 2-1, to win its three-team pool on Monday, July 9, to advance to the gold bracket held three days later.

The FW team beat a team from Germany 2-0, in the semifinals before beating a team from Reggio Emilia, 2-1, to win the championship. 

The Tricolore Youth Sports Games are held every four years in Reggio Emilia, and the Fort Worth Sister Cities program sends over a delegation of athletes to participate in a variety of sports including baseball, volleyball, beach volleyball, swimming, boys basketball and girls basketball among other sports.

In August 2015, Glen Rose’s Hailey Ibarra, Libby Hinton, Maddie Mooney and Logan Smith, participated in the volleyball event and took bronze.
