Jocelyn Mims of Glen Rose placed third in the girls division and Orrin Miller was 17th among the boys on Aug. 25 in the Cowtown Classic cross country meet in Haltom City, hosted by Richland High School.

The Glen Rose boys placed sixth overall in the cross country team standings for the 5K run, and the Lady Tigers were eighth among the girls, competing in the 3,200-meter course.

Mims finished with a time of 13:28.69. Next for the GRHS varsity girls was Laura Ogletree, at 14:56.09, followed by Salma De Reza De Loera, 15:15.56, Catherine Ogletree, 16:00.32, and Kylie Frush, 16:55.04.

Following Miller for the GRHS varsity boys were Colby Pounds, 29th, Carson Osborne, 41st, Dristan Cathey, 42nd, Collin Clair, 43rd, and Gage Cathey, 71st. Individual times were not available.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers were scheduled to compete early Friday morning in a meet at Chisenhall Park in Burleson. Their next meet will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Rex Callicott Park in Keene.
