Glen Rose was well represented near the top of the player leaderboards at the UIL Class 3A State Golf Championships last weekend at Roy Kizer Golf Course in Austin.

In the girls event, Whitley Patterson tied for second place and won a playoff for the silver medal. The Glen Rose senior went 74-74-148 in the two round event, finishing four over par. She tied with Taylor Newlin of Frisco Wakeland, 73-75-148 before the playoff.

In boys action, sophomore Tiger Hunter Blanks finished tied for eighth. Like Patterson, Blanks was two over each round, going 74-74-148. He tied with Johnny Antle of team champion Graham. Antle went 75-73-148.

At the top of the leaderboard on the girls side was Addison Long of Andrews, who went even par 72-72-144. On the boys side, the individual champ was Chase Chapman of Robinson at three under par 70-71-141.

Graham went 297-300-597 to win the boys title, while Andrews won the girls event at 305-315-620.
