The Lady Tigers varsity, sub-varsity and freshman volleyball teams all rolled over Venus in district play last week.
Glen Rose claimed the victory in varsity play with a combination of strong serves, successful passes and kills. The Lady Tigers dominated 25-19, 25-17, 25-9.
Setters Reilly Junge (24), Destiny Ponce (17) and Shelby Rotan (14) racked up the service points.
Junge also was the team's leading passer with 38 digs, while Teryl Dunn added 20 and Destiny Ponce (19) continued to hit the double-digits.
Macy Reynolds led the team with eight kills, while Cheyenne Harton led six successful attacks and Taylor Rhodes added three.
Harton got in five blocks, while Ponce blocked three. Coach Linda Waggoner said.
The game completed the first round of district play.
JV players trumphed by a score of 25-13, 22-25 and 25-13.
Bailey Plaster stood out with 14 service points, followed by Shelby Lacey (8), Mary McPherson (7), Sloan Williams (6), Abby Cole (5) and Maysen Mapes (2).
The freshman Lady Tigers routed the Lady Bulldogs 25-10 and 25-14.
Setter Sierra Armstrong was the high scorer with 10 service points and Kelli Crabtree added seven. Meredith Odom contributed six and Bryce Browner, Brenna Ibarra and Kelsie Potter each scored two.
The Lady Tigers played Hillsboro Tuesday in Hillsboro. Results were too late for the Reporter's press time, so please check out our Facebook page and Web site for results.
On Friday, the Lady Tigers face Kennedale here. The varsity and JV games start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the ninth grade.
