Glen Rose dominated Hillsboro in junior high girls basketball last week, winning all four games by an average of 26 points.

In the eighth grade “A” contest, the Lady Tigers jumped out to an 8-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in a 38-14 victory.

Leading the way were Madison Morrow and Kelsey Potter with nine points each, while Cheyenne VanWinkle and Layce Long both scored five. Ashlan Bernard added five and Meredith Odom scored three.

In seventh grade “A” action, the Lady Tigers won 43-19.

Madi Gibson was the only double-digit scorer with 10 points, while Brynna Taylor scored six and Dakota Ponce netted five. Scoring four each were Bailey Brown, Hanah Morales and Olivia Banz, while Page Green and Destenie Lewis both added three and Carli Jackowski and Sabrina Watson each had two.

The Lady Tigers’ eighth grade “B” team picked up 12 points from Destiny Sutherland and built an 18-0 first-half lead on its way to a 38-9 win.

Jennifer Herrera and Kimberlee McCullough scored six points each, Meghan Branham and Kedzie Sheets both had four and Genesis Funez and Bailey Randall each added two.

The seventh “B” girls from Glen Rose rolled to a 35-9 win.

Megan Bretton scored 10 points, Haley Allen added seven and Ashley Daniels scored six. Other scorers included Ashlyn Reynolds (4), McKenzie Morrison (2), Brittan Grace (2), Brynn Reynolds (2) and Savannah Carper (2).
